The Academy of Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains (Peking, China) was founded in 2024 as an independent international institution dedicated to advancing green science and ecological civilization. Drawing its name from the timeless ideals of clarity and vitality — lucid waters and lush mountains — the Academy brings together the world's foremost scientists, scholars, and practitioners to address the defining environmental challenges of our time.
Grounded in both ancient wisdom and cutting-edge research, the Academy operates at the intersection of science, policy, and practice. Its fellowship model unites Nobel laureates with emerging leaders, creating a unique ecosystem of knowledge exchange that spans disciplines, borders, and generations.
With headquarters in Beijing and a growing network of partners across 18 countries, the Academy is building the intellectual infrastructure for a truly sustainable future — one where economic development and ecological integrity advance hand in hand.
We uphold the highest standards of scientific rigor, peer review, and intellectual honesty in all our endeavors.
We transcend borders and disciplines, recognizing that ecological challenges demand collective action and shared knowledge.
We champion nature-based solutions that restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and sustain life for future generations.
We make research accessible, translating complex science into actionable wisdom for communities and policymakers alike.
We measure success not in quarterly returns but in the legacy we leave for those who will inherit the Earth.
We maintain intellectual autonomy, ensuring that our research agenda serves science and society — not special interests.
